Measuring Oil

A boy went to an oil shop to buy oil with two bottles. One bottle of 5lts and the other of 3lts. Unfortunately the shop keeper didn't have the measuring vessel. The boy wanted 4lts of oil. How can the 4lts be measured using the bottles in the hand of the boy ?

Arrange the Pebbles

A man had 1000 pebbles. These pebbles where given to him by his son for safe custody. The man planned to keep the pebbles in 10 bags and mark the number of pebbles in it, on the bag. He wants to fill the 10 bags so that if his sons asks for any number of pebbles randomly from 1 to 1000, he can return without opening the bags. How can the man arrange the number of pebbles in each bag to meet the requirement?
